I must be honest. This morning was hard. I am not sure whether it was the knowing that I was only two days away from finishing or whether I truly hit some plateau. My arms seemed achy. My right leg forced me to grimace with each step because of an Achilles problem and a knee problem. We had family day for the run today with a journey from Elm City to eight miles shy of Washington. Tyler listened to stories and yelled "love you dad" and Mindy put up with me. I must admit the heat and the miles are catching up with me. Though I had energy to run, my feet screamed from running on fire black roads and hot sand. We once again had a little detour adding another 1.5 miles to the end result with a total of 50 miles ending at 4:50PM.

I lay here with bags of ice laced across my legs, six, one gallon bags to be precise. This is par for the course of each day out here while we venture across our beautiful state. After the first 20-30 minute icing (or as long as possible) we will go eat. We are all clean and presentable to restaurants of course :-) I ususally eat something on par of two meals at dinner.
